The end of the week 11 Adventures

Friday is always a challenge because it is the end of the week and after a long hard week all I want to do is go home and rest up.  These cards are intense work for me.
David called up and told me that their van had been rearended and that all the clients were taken to the hospital to be checked out and the end result is that he has 4 days off work due to his back hurting him.  We tried to call his Bishop to ask for someone to go over to the group home and give him a blessing but the phone did not answer.  This morning I called the Phoenix mission office and asked for someone to go over to David to give him a blessing.  I called David on his phone but there was no answer – I guess he was asleep.
We did two folders today at 1700 images a piece and put them all on the shuttle to send off to SLC.  All our folders from last week passed and we are happy.
Last night at the missionary meeting we heard from Elders Hill and Morales about their experience in Walmart and at the 4th July Parade in Hallowell.  It appears that a Pentecostal minister verbally attacked them in Walmart and then at the Parade, some of the participants in the parade left their position to go over to the elders and pointedly say very bad stuff to them.  Perhaps we should rename them Alma and Amulek and consider this area on the same scale as Ammonihah.
Anne came over this afternoon after work to see our new apartment.  We sat and chatted for quite a while and it was really nice to have someone in our home to visit with.  She likes this apartment better than the other one too.  She told me that Alexander (her son) is about to rent an apartment in the condo’s that are on the other side of our first apartment.  He has to leave where he is at right now because he earns too much to stay there – apparently it is set up for section 8 people only.
I went walking this morning and the dew on the grass was really heavy and the slugs were all over the grasses.  I took a picture of a meadow that was shining white in the sunshine.  It is a really pretty picture and I will put it on the picture blog.  There were a lot of slugs on the grass and I wondered how in the world did they inch their way up the slender stems of the grass to feast on the blooming tops.  It must have taken them quite a while and with great dexterity on their part.  Yesterday there were tons more slugs on the grasses than today.  I guess they ate their fill and went back down to the earth to spend time digesting the delicacies they had found.  Each week I note the different grasses that are coming into bloom and I think it has to do with the amount of sunshine that they receive.  I love walking along Riggs Brook Lane because of the peacefulness of the whole place.
Peter came into our room this morning and was really agitated to see that Janet has left stuff all over the one table where he likes to work.  He grabbed her stuff and pretty much threw it into her enclosure then sat down to work with the microfilm that he had in his hand.  He is a drama queen to be sure but I really think that he should not have thrown her stuff around.  He even threw some of it in the trash because he said it was of no use and has been sitting around for weeks and not moved, so he moved it.
He also got after us for moving the cradle by ourselves.  He insisted that we should have had help – well no one was around and the cradle is not that heavy to start with.  His parting shot was – Well if you break the glass, don’t expect me to replace it for you.   Yah! Throw down the gauntlet, why don’t you!
