Adventures for Day 69

Day 69 adventure was twofold.  We had set a goal to do two folders per day and I wondered if we would achieve that goal since we did not get into the Archives building till just after 8am and sis not bet to digitizing till about 8.15am.  But, we have a production line going and we were able to finish one folder before lunch and one after lunch.  In fact the afternoon folder was a lot quicker than the morning folder and both had about the same number of images in them.  This makes me feel very happy to be able to do these folders at this speed.  We only have 4 boxes left and about 4 inches of cards in the final box.  Now, the only problem we might have is for someone in Salt Lake to have a fit over two different media on the same shuttle, and not only that, only half of the one media instead of the whole rework.  They will just have to get past it, that is all I can say.  These are reworks and not eve our reworks and there is little we can do to change to accommodate their computer models.   We got into really hot water from our supervisor because last  year we did reworks and did not put all the reworks from one media on the same shuttle, but split them up.  He really was not a happy camper over that.
The second adventure I had was walking from the YMCA to Hallowell and back.  After sitting all day and not moving around I get rusted joints in my knees so a good brisk walk is what I need.  I timed myself – I did one mile in 20 minutes – that is 40 minutes round trip.  My doctor in Prescott suggested that 20 minutes was too long to take to walk a mile and that I should make it 15 minutes or less for it to be a beneficial walk.  As I sat there aghast at his suggestion, I realized I was looking at an overweight man who probably only walks from his house to his car and from the car into work and retraces his steps at the end of the day – so who is he to tell me to shave 5 minutes off my mile time?
We tried out the oven in this apartment tonight to see how well it cooks pizza.  Bill insisted that the pizza be cooked on the wire rack and no pizza pan under it.  So that is how it got cooked and the crust was really really crispy……………..eat your heart out Pizza Hut and Domino’s.
I had as my goal, before coming on this mission to read the Book of Mormon through twice.  I have completed one read through and have 164 pages to go.  When that is done, I want to do a topic study which will probably take me a year to do.  When I was in Japan, I read Jesus the Christ through at least two times and that was a challenge at that time, but I decided just to limit my reading to the Book of Mormon on this mission.
