Markham family reunion in Connecticiut. 2012

The reunion weekend started when we picked up Aunt Roxy from the Amtrak station in Springfield, Mass.
We retrieved Sara from the Bradley Field in Hartford and she came armed with her trusty laptop.
Sara and David in contact with the family in Nebraska via Skype.  Aaah! the marvels of this life via the electronics available to us.
We all gathered at the nursing home to meet with and include cousin Mary Anne (second from left in the front row.)  Many of these cousins had not been together for 50 years so this was a momentous occasion.
Bill and Warren talking together at the nursing home.  David, upon observing these cousins in conversation quipped , "Well, you can tell they are full Markhams.  Look at their noses.   They are the same shape."
Brother and sister - yep!  full Markhams to be sure.
Shady Glen is THE place to be for a special Markham outing.
This cheeseburger is the reason we go to Shady Glen.  They have perfected a way of cooking four slices of American Cheese and putting them in this Hamburger.  They won't say how they do this.  I have tried from time to time to duplicate their feat but have met with failure.  So the only way to have this delectable dish is to travel to Connecticut and eat at Shady Glen.
Yes!  you might well be amazed at the challenge facing you as you eat this hamburger.
Pete Galasso and his former wife Jean, at her home in Manchester.  Pete is a cousin on the Murray side of the Wilbur Ward and Anna Grace Murray Markham family.  This reunion was primarily for the descendants of Wilbur and Anna Markham, but the Galasso home was always the gathering point for everyone.
George (on left) and Warren Markham.
David and Sara Markham Friest at the airport.
Our family gathered at the airport to say goodbye to Aunt Roxy as she left for home.
