We did a total of 1020 miles between Friday and Tuesday
evening. Those were fun filled and
packed to the hilt with activities and the result is I am still tired.
But now it is time to get back to work and work our hardest
for the remaining 4 weeks of this mission.
Some of the court papers we are working with are attached to each other by
sealing wax. This wax is over 200 years
old and still going strong - except when it is freshly humidified….and then all
bets are off. One of the papers that I
prepared recently was literally stitched to another piece of paper with sewing
thread. I guess in the absence of glue
one uses whatever is handy.
I am always fascinated with the names that belong to the
people in the court cases. Today I came
across a court case that read like this:-
Berry Vs. Treat, volume 26, page
153, writ #16. Court costs $185.12
against the defendant with tax of $12.92 making a total of $198.00owed the
defendant (Treat) to the Plaintiff (Berry).
All we need now is a good scoop of icecream and we would have a Berry
Icecream Treat.
It has been raining all day and this is one of those days
when I am grateful that we have an inside mission and not be out in the rain
trying to track down members who are not wishing to be found because they have
let their belief and commitment lapse.
