Interview with the Mission President

Today after the Archives, we went shopping for a bit and then went down to the Church to be interviewed by the Mission President.
He was interested in how we were getting along with the mission work.  He used a scripture from the New Testament to ask the question of how the our work (digitizing) could bless many.  Well, one way is that descendants of the people in the court cases could come to the realization that the violent behaviors of their ancestors had permeated their present lives and that they can be the one to stop the cycle.  The thing that bothers me most is the plight of the children in whose homes there was violence and alcoholism and infidelity.
Today at the Capitol there were demonstrations against the discussions that were being held inside regarding the reduction in Maine Care. All the parking spots were taken up.  Guess this is what it will be like when the Legislature is in session.  I learned that Legislator registration plates on cars gave one priority to park.  Those who parked in these spots were all given tickets.
I went to Weight Watchers for the intro to the new program and when I came back my spot had been taken so I parked in the 'free' parking garage.  That was an experience.
We are being taken to task over digitizing the tight binding books as single pages.  We did consult with the Archivist before we did this and he opened the books and helped us set them up and we did clear this with our supervisor.  Perhaps the right hand really does not know what the left hand is doing.
