Many years ago Jake Garn joyfully announced that they had found the remains of Noah's Ark on Mt. Ararat in Turkey. There was a picture in the paper to prove his point and at that time they did not have Photo Shop to change things around either. After his announcement there was a real flap in the religious community about the find and the various leaders weighed in. Some questioned the reality of the find, others questioned the veracity of the Biblical story and yet others just branded him as a nutcase.
Well I want to know if the ark was so crowded that from time to time there were escapees? When I go to the Zoo with my grandchildren, I am aware that the animals there came of no choice of their own. As immigrants, they were clearly brought there from some other place. I know that for sure the seals at the Children's Zoo in Lincoln are not native to Nebraska, so they were brought there by someone unknown and deposited there for my grand children to marvel at when they perform their tricks in the pool there.
There have been theories put forth about how Australia ended up with the collection of wild animals that live there. No other area of the world sports Kangaroo's and Koala's and witchety grubs etc.
So I was wondering if some of the animals ditched the ark along the way due to overcrowding. After all, some animals can reproduce quickly while others take about a year to reproduce and can you imagine how many little animals must have been squashed by being in the wrong place when the Elephants moved around?
In Maine they have Moose (very large), Deer (not quite as large), Coyote (much smaller), Fox (smaller than the Coyote), Squirrels (smaller yet), Ermine (even smaller than a squirrel) and they have many other animals that are too numerous to mention. So, do you think it is possible that along the way some animals opted to get off the ark rather than live in such crowded conditions? If not, then explain how the tiny Ermine walked from Mt. Ararat to Maine and don't forget the snapping turtles they have here. If they walked from Ararat to Maine, then I suspect that some of their kind are still walking trying to arrive to proliferate.
Jeff Stewart went to Vacation Bible School because his parents were not 'churched' and they thought that Jeffy would benefit from the exposure. He went, somewhat unwillingly, but went anyway and came home thoroughly confused. The creation left him wondering but what baffled him completely was the story of Noah and the ark. Jeffy explained to his mother that Noah took two of every kind of animal into this ark and it floated on the ocean and landed on Mt. Ararat. Everything was ok, until the teacher produced a tiny ark about 18 inches long and 12 inches high. That was too much for Jeffy, he decided that there was literally no way elephants and other large animals could fit in such a small boat.
