There is no shortage of ponds here in Maine. This one is in Hallowell and is where we took our hike. The next two pictures are of the same pond but different views. It had a "Beach" which was some sand and gravel mix that went into the water a few feet for people to swim in. The water looked cold either way you looked at it and I do not do cold water.
a man was throwing a stick into the water for his dog to retrieve it. note the beach in the foreground
This yellow dot is actually a mushroom. we found many different colored mushrooms on this hike.
this picture is of the water collected in the quarry
a different view of the same quarry. They quarry granite here that is shipped all over the world so they tell me.
More mushrooms - seemingly marching downhill into the water.
Same type of mushroom with bright green moss.
another view of the quarry pond.
This pond is quite deep but is reputed to have a high concentration of leeches in it. I imagine it has high concentrations of calcium carbonate making the water quite hard.
the theme for the baby shower was Monkey stuff. Hence the palm tree and monkey in its branches.
a Monkey cake, banana's and a blue sock monkey
Two diaper creation of a monkey motor bike.
