Winding down with the records

We have just finished the Kennebec County court of common pleas - there were 25 volumes of these.  We are now working on the court docket books.  There were very few of the CCC books that had  an index in them and some of the indexes were separate but written in a funny little book that was hidden inside the big court book.
These court docket books are written in absolutely wonderful handwriting.  I do not know how they will be an index for the CCC books, but the records preservation person says they will.  Guess I do not understand the role of docket books.

These books are a real change from the CCC volumes in that they are very thin - some of them look just like exercise books while others are somewhat bound.  All of them are in terrible shape, so I guess it is imperative that we do the capture of them to preserve their contents.
On Sunday afternoon the weather was so beautiful that to have stayed inside would have been a real crime.  So we went for a drive to the Capitol Park and went walking in the park.  I love the state house here and took these two views from down in the park.
