We braved the weather today

We went out to the Archives this morning and it was pretty snowy all over the car and under that snow was some ice.  Our poor car wonders what has happened to it - In Arizona it is always in a nice warm garage for the winter and is cool in the garage for the summer but here it is outside..........brrrrrrrrr.
There was no precipitation when we went to the Archives, but soon after we got there it began to rain - icy rain; the kind of rain that weighs on trees and breaks them down and snaps electric wires.  When we went out to the car at 4pm it had warmed up a little and the ice just fell off the car when we scraped it.  Rather fun to have it fall off rather than have us break our hands trying to scrape it off with these two scrapers that we bought.  They are pretty much good for nothing.  We had better snow scrapers in Pennsylvania than these are here.
We took the shuttle to the Fedex store and then we went down to the church for the Missionary meeting.  We decided to ask for this weekly meeting to be held at our house for the rest of the time because going down to the church was really out of everyone's way.  4 out of the 6 participants in these meetings live really close together.  On the way down to the church I noticed the trees by the side of the road - they were coated with ice from the ice storm.  I saw a similar thing between Johnstown and Ebensburg in Pennsylvania where after an ice storm, the sun came out and as I was driving the highway, the trees all looked like they were made of spun silver in the sunshine.  It was really very pretty to see but the road was terrible to drive on.
We have been trying something new in doing the digitizing on the books from Knox county.  These books are oversized books and so we had to do a lot of fiddling around with the camera to get it right and we think we have it down - perhaps.  Our report came back today and out of 15 folders only one failed.  I can live with that - I suppose.
Bill wanted to see the Patriots / Denver Bronco's game tomorrow.  We lived in Steeler Country for 20 years and were fans of the Steelers all that time.  Then we moved to Arizona and became Cardinals fans and now we live in Maine - so I guess we have changed one more time - now Patriots fans.  At the Christmas 9 lessons and carols service we went to, the minister announced that God had answered the many prayers offered that day - the Patriots won and the whole congregation laughed.  A counselor in the bishopric has asked Bill to go to his house to see the game..............guess it will be and "old Boys Club" meeting.
The Nor'Easter is still with us - even though it has stopped raining - the wind is now coming from the North and it will be a very cold night tonight for us.
The gas station attendant said that our antifreeze was good for 75 degrees below zero.  How's that again?  I have no concept of how cold that really is...............and I am not in a hurry to find out.
